Joel Peterson

Mr. Peterson is the co-founder of Peterson Partners, a Salt Lake City-based private equity group with $300 million under management, and a lecturer at the Stanford University School of Business. Mr. Peterson was valedictorian of his undergraduate class at Brigham Young University, and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1973. Between 1973 and 1991, Mr. Peterson was treasurer, CFO, director, and ultimately CEO of Trammell Crow Company, one of the world's largest real estate development firms. In 1995, he co-founded Peterson Partners, a private equity firm which has invested in local Utah businesses such as Winder Dairy, Making Memories, EnergySolutions, Diamond Rental, Asphalt Zipper and 3form, and national businesses such as JetBlue Airways, Cranium and Asurion. Mr. Peterson is currently a director of several companies, including JetBlue Airways, Franklin Covey and Asurion. Mr. Peterson has taught real estate development and management of growing enter-prises at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and recently was elected by students to receive the Distinguished Teacher Award, an annual honor awarded by students to an outstanding teacher.
